As tax reform in China has deepened, preferential tax treatments have declined. Fortunately, the Chinese government is continuing to offer financial subsidies and tax incentives to resident enterprises for research and development (R&D). Encouraging and strengthening R&D and innovation has become a national policy and is a key priority under the government’s 12th Five-Year Plan. While a good understanding of R&D tax incentives can lead to tax savings, R&D has many more advantages, and can influence the entire strategy of an enterprise:

? Proprietary key technologies can increase productivity, comparativeness and sustainable growth of an enterprise
? R&D achievements and services can improve the pricing of an enterprise
? Science and technology expertise can enhance the image of an enterprise and its value to the local government
? Proprietary key technologies can enhance the financing capability of the enterprise
? Proprietary key technologies can make an enterprise more attractive to strategic investors.

R&D tax incentives do not just impact the finance, tax and R&D departments of an enterprise; management,  the manufacturing department, and even the HR department, should also be involved.

In order to assist you and your enterprise effectively plan R&D activities, we invite you to join our PRC R&D Incentives seminar. We will discuss how R&D activities can impact on your operations, and introduce the R&D incentives currently available in China and how they can benefit your business.  We will also introduce KPMG’s Global and PRC R&D Incentives practice, which can offer you prompt assistance with the incentives application.
