现在的平均任期比2006年延长近一倍,当时不到两年,为23.2个月,为史宾沙2004年发起任期研究的最低年份。研究发现,在垂直业务中,工业企业中营销总监任期最长,平均超过9年(111个月),最短为医疗保健,汽车,餐厅和通信/媒体行业,平均为28个月至32个月之间。顶级技术公司的营销总监去年的平均任期为5年(60个月),而领先的金融服务公司的营销总监平均为4年半(54个月)。

 

Spencer Stuart:American CMO average tenure nears four years
(May 16, 2013, Chicago,/btobonline.com//)—The average tenure for chief marketing officers among the top 100 advertised brands rose to 45 months last year, a two-month gain over the 2011 average, according to the ninth annual CMO tenure study from executive search consultancy Spencer Stuart. The average tenure is now nearly double what it was in 2006, when it slipped below two years, to 23.2 months, the lowest tenure since Spencer Stuart initiated the study in 2004.
Among business verticals, the study found tenure is longest in industrial companies, averaging more than nine years (111 months), and shortest in the healthcare, automotive, restaurant and communications/media sectors, averaging between 28 and 32 months. CMOs of top technology companies had an average tenure of five years (60 months) last year, while chief marketers at leading financial services companies averaged four and a half years (54 months).
